THANK YOU

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their support throughout 2021. It was a very interesting start to the year with Week 1 cancelled way back in February as we braced ourselves for another COVID interrupted year. We are fortunate to live in WA where despite this initial hiccup, we have carried on reasonably uninterrupted and managed to have a full and exciting year. As we head into 2022, we are preparing for some further interruptions with vaccine mandates creating some complexities for schools and some conditions in need of being adhered to. I have attached a letter outlining the conditions that will be in play at the beginning of next year for everyone to digest over the break.

As I mentioned last night at the Awards Ceremony, there are many staff members who are leaving at the end of the year and I would like to thank them all for their contributions over many years. To Mrs Rowe and Mrs Dye, I thank you for stepping in this term to cover in PP and Year 1. Mr Caddy and Miss Tapscott, who are going to other schools for 2022, you will be missed and we hope you come back in 2023. Mrs Chadderton, we wish you well for the upcoming birth of your second child and cannot wait to meet him or her.  To Mrs Nicoloau, Mrs LeBlanc, Ibu Marshall and Mrs Bifield we wish you all the very best for your retirement. The amount of experience that leaves with you is irreplaceable. We will realise just how much we miss you in the new year when you are no longer here to do those things you have just always done. Also to Mrs Edmonds and Mrs Caré, your support as our School Psychologist and Chaplain has been very much appreciated and we will miss you. We wish you both well at your new schools.

To all the staff I want to say thank you for making GHPS a wonderful place to be. The care and support that is provided to the students is outstanding. Our school has a strong reputation in the community due to the hard work of you all. I am excited about next year as we set ourselves some strong and deliberate academic targets and work toward achieving them.

To the families, the P&C and School Board thank you once again for making it a partnership. We are privileged to be teaching and caring for your children and we are serious about making them the best versions of themselves that they can be.

And of course the students. It has been a wonderful year and you continue to amaze me with your talents and abilities. You care about your school and one another and work so hard to get better at everything you do. As I keep reminding you; ‘Alone we do well, but together we do better’.

Merry Christmas to everyone and have a safe and enjoyable break.
