ASPIRE HIGHER LEADERSHIP INCURSION 2020

Next year the Year 5 and 6 students will participate in a Leadership programme in late February. This is a programme to encourage all children to be the best they can and to develop their skills in working with each other. The cost will be $20 per child payable next year

IN TERM SWIMMING 2020

Students who will be in Years 4 to 6 next year have been given  an Excursion Permission Slip for In Term Swimming.  This commences the first week of Term 1 on Wednesday 5 February.  As it is necessary to have the forms ready for the swimming teachers by Monday 3 February, parents are requested to return the forms (if you haven’t already) by Friday 31 January, 2020 at the latest.

CHAPLAIN CHAT

I was just want to express my gratitude for being allowed to serve in the role of School Chaplain at Gooseberry Hill PS for the past 6 months. I have gotten to know a lot of parents, students and staff and appreciate the warm welcome I received.

Jannina has been an amazing support and help to everybody that she meets, and to me personally and I wish her well.

I have enjoyed the warm welcome I received each time I visited and the students are always friendly and happy.

I love the diverse role of a School Chaplain and everyday brings new challenges and opportunities to help people.

I have enjoyed my time at Gooseberry Hill as it is a very warm and friendly school and I have enjoyed getting to know the students, staff and school community.

I want to wish the graduating Year 6 group all the best as they move into high school, an amazing group of students.

A special thank you to the school P&C for the extra funds they put into the Chaplaincy program to allow 3 days a week, which allowed me to work full time as a Chaplain in semester 2.

I would like  to wish the entire school community a very Happy Christmas, a safe and peaceful holiday break and the very best 2020….

Thank you
Adrian Wilson
School Chaplain

ACT BELONG COMMIT

Connect with Nature

Connecting with nature helps us to recover from stress and mental fatigue, helps us relax and puts us in a good frame of mind. So next time you feel like you need a lift; tend to your garden or explore your local park; you might like to go for a walk along the beach or take a moment to enjoy watching the waves.

WEEK 9 EVENTS

PP-YEAR 3 SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Our junior students (and teachers) had a great time at the Swimming Carnival last Friday. Everyone enjoyed themselves playing games throughout the day.

We saw wonderful performance at the Early Childhood Centre and the Nativity Play, well done to all involved.
