KINDY SCHEDULE: END OF TERM 2

A reminder that Kindy Group 1 has an extra Wednesday, making up for public holidays and Student Free Days throughout the year. Please refer to timetable below:

CROSS COUNTRY

Our Faction Cross Country event will take place this Friday 4 June. We ask all spectators to enter the oval via the gate on Huntley Street as the oval gate near the library is part of the Cross Country track (see attached map).

 

BIGGEST MORNING TEA

On Friday 4 June we will be conducting the Biggest Morning Tea during the Faction Cross Country. We ask that Yr 4 & 5 students donate approximately 20 pikelets for this event (please complete this form). Please bring your donations to the Yr 5 wet area on Friday 4 June. We hope you will join us for a cuppa. You are encouraged to bring your own cup to care for the environment!

FACTION SWEAT BAND SALES

WASO/ORCHESTRA EXCURSION

Our orchestra students have been invited to attend an event at Perth Concert Hall on Friday 11 June. Please return this online permission form AND health form by Tuesday 1 June. 

GREEN TEAM – BOOK SWAP

Next Thursday 8 June we will have a book swap event from 8:30am in the school library for all Year 1-6 students. Bring in a book and swap it for another!

Remember that we are also a drop of point for Containers for Cash; water bottles, individual juice boxes, stubbies, cans etc.

THURSDAY SENIOR CHOIR FINISH TIME 

Our Thursday Senior Choir rehearsals will now go until 4:45pm (not 4:15pm) until the Crown concert is over (Monday 9 August).

WAGSMS CONCERT

Mrs O’Reilly will hold a special workshop for the WAGSMS concert, the next scheduled date is Sunday 20 June at 2:00pm-5:00pm, Keene Undercover Area

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY

School photos will be on Monday 21 & Tuesday 22 June.  Please return all pre-labelled forms to the teacher, REGARDLESS of whether you are ordering prints or not by Wednesday 16 June. Please note there will be NO yearbook in 2021.

KINDY – YEAR 3 SUPERHERO DAY!

2022 APPLICATIONS FOR ENROLMENT

Kindergarten and Pre-Primary enrolments for 2022 are now being accepted. The closing date for applications is Friday 23 July 2021.

  1. Children born 1 July 2017 – 30 June 2018 are entitled to attend Kindy in 2022
  2. Children born 1 July 2016 – 30 June 2017 are entitled to attend Pre-Primary in 2022

Application forms are available from our website and can be emailed to office staff. If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their children at our school next year, please pass this information on to them.

As Pre-Primary is a compulsory year of schooling, students currently enrolled in Pre-Primary do not need to reapply for Year 1.

SPREAD THE WARMTH

The cooler weather is just around the corner. Families who wish to donate warm items including blankets, jumpers, gloves, pants, socks and beanies can do so by placing them in the box in the front office.

WONDER RECYCLING REWARDS FOR SCHOOLS

The GHPS Environmental Committee has registered with the Wonder Recycling Rewards Program, they will be collecting bread bags and bread tags at the school. Once collected, Wonder will turn the plastic into wonderful things like school play equipment!

The school will also go into the draw to win one of five exercise circuits made from the recycled plastic we collect. Collection bins are now located in the Library, A Block, B Block, Brooks and Pre Primary.

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?

Congratulations Dexter!

At our assembly last Friday, Dexter was presented with the Lions of Children Courage Award for facing life’s challenges with exceptional courage. Congratulations Dexter, we are very proud of you!

YEAR 6 DOCKER/FEVER CUP

Coach Caddy, Mr Blight and Mr Orrell took our Year 6 students to the Interschool Dockers/Fever Cup at Ray Owen. GHPS placings were:

  • A division Netball 1st place
  • B divivision netball 2nd place
  • Football 4th place
