WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?

Year 6 Leadership Breakfast

Last Thursday the Year 6 students participated in the Leadership Breakfast. The morning consisted of students sharing a catered breakfast with their parents whilst being entertained by musicians and guest speakers.

We would like to formally thank the Lesmurdie Senior High School Jazz Band and their Director Mr James Martin and Kalamunda Senior High School vocalists Callie Ashbolt and Deja Supadi for their fabulous performances.

We were so lucky to have our awesome guest speakers Tiffany Allen, CEO of Construction Training Fund and Mark Oberman, Olympic Water Polo player and ex Gooseberry Hill student, speak to us about their journeys to where they are today including the successes and setbacks that they have experienced.

Lastly I would like to thank our Student Leaders for the mature and organised way that they prepared for and ran the event. The venue looked terrific and the event was enjoyed by all who attended.

Ms Susan Archdall
Deputy Principal

Early Childhood Area

The Early childhood staff and students would like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to Lior and Kavi’s very talented Mum Priya. Priya very kindly gave our much-loved hobby horses a magnificent make over. Priya, your time, creativity and generosity is very much appreciated!

WAGSMS Workshop

Our Senior Choir students have been putting in the hours for their performance on Monday 9 August. Here are a few sneak peaks – good luck to everyone involved, you’re going to be a hit!

Celebrating Languages Week

This week the school celebrated Languages Week. Ibu Marshall organised two incursions for our students, Bollywood dancing and a Japanese Percussion Performance!

Fever Netball Champions Cup

Following Gooseberry Hill’s success in the Stirk Group Interschool Netball Competition, we were invited to participate in School Sport Western Australia and Netball WA’s second: West Coast Fever Primary Champions Cup. This was an all-day event with schools from across the state competing to be awarded the West Coast Fever Primary Champions Cup. We are so proud of our GHPS team, they represented our school extremely well, played hard and drew in the finals. Much like in the Olympics, after a short discussion, it was agreed that the two teams would share the Cup. Well done GHPS!
